This Greek restaurant is unique place! From the moment we stepped with my husband inside, we was greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance that transported us straight to Greece✨, where we was living for 1 month. The menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering a wide array of traditional Greek dishes with amazing taste, which reminds me homemade food in Cyprus Greek residents where I was living for half year (it’s yammy🤤). Latte is incredible, for me for sure the best in America, reminds me testiest latte from Europe💫. Sadly that I can’t drink caffeine, but my husband usually enjoy it. The staff is especially attentive and very friendly, always glad to see you again. Whether you’re craving European experience, this restaurant delivers the true taste of it. Highly recommended!

We were warmly greeted as we entered the restaurant and were seated immediately at a lovely window table. We ordered our meal which arrived promptly. The food was perfectly prepared, well-seasoned and delicious. As former restaurant owners who have spent their lives in the hospitality and restaurant business in Europe, New York City and New England, we can highly recommend this restaurant for its well-prepared food, its friendly atmosphere and convenient location.

best greek salad i’ve had
The best greek salad that I’ve had in North America! Reminded me of the Greek salads that I would get in Greece when I went 5 years ago. Also had the tzatziki with pita and was superb! Service was just as good as the food, the restaurant was very clean, and loved the Greek themed decor! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for really good authentic Greek food.

Came here for lunch with my wife, it’s a fairly new establishment and it is Fantastic!
We had the dips as an appetizer, very authentic and flavorful came with warm delicious pita bread, YES!!
Then we had a beet salad, Greek salad topped with grilled chicken breast, large portions and excellent quality and presentation. Cappuccino and baklavas for dessert, friendly service too. We will come back for dinner I want to try the Branzino fish! Highly recommended!

This is the real authentic Greek restaurant. The gyro I had is the same one that you can get in Greece. They also serve the real espresso coffee. I will definitely be coming here again!

Been here three times in the past month, and each visit was better than the last. I would really like to give praise to their Branzino Fillet – two freshly grilled pieces of sea bass, served with modest portions of steamed veggies, tomato rice, and side salad. I don’t know what they put in the sea bass, but it was absolutely delicious on many levels – crunchy but not dry, soft but firm, and packed with flavor. One of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had, and this is coming from someone who isn’t so crazy about seafood (even though I’m a turtle). Highly recommend.

What a gem! Felt like I was really in Greece eating here. The family who owns and runs it are wonderful and great service! The food is absolutely delicious! Big portions and tons of flavor! You’re missing out if you don’t go try this amazing restaurant. I loved my gyro and bifteki plate with the melt in your mouth potatoes. My family all loved their plates. It was my grandma’s birthday and they took extra great care of us. We will be back!

I just stopped by Djonisis Greek Restaurant at 4940 Fruitville Road
Sarasota, Florida. Food was wonderful. We started with the Maze Platter as an appetizer. Was absolutely delishishish. Loved the eggplant and spanakopita. For a main dish I had theMousaka and the wife had the salmon. What a treat. Service with great andbthe waiter was very accommodating. All and all a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be back.

This place has only been open a month or so, however the makeover is fantastic. They really cleaned up and upgraded the interior and furniture making it comfortable and well lit / open. The food is incredible- so flavorful and unique to this area. We loved it. Very reasonable prices too. Family owned and operated as well. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Love this place! Great family run Greek restaurant. Starts off with great tasting water (meaning no taste) in a carafe left at your table with perfect stemless water glasses. Nice wine and beer selection. Started with the Feta appetizer drizzled with honey and topped with sesame seeds and goes great with their yummy bread. Very filling! Octopus bachelor arbeit schreiben lassen appetizer was wonderful and cooked perfectly! Meals are great portions and prices are very reasonable. The gyro meat is so tender and fresh cut. Tzatziki has the perfect amount of garlic and very flavorful. We tried the combo platter to taste a few different things and everything was amazing! The gyro platter and the gyro wrap were nice portions and food was perfect. Be prepared to not be rushed and sit and enjoy your meal without pressure to hurry. Did not have room for dessert. I will be back often!

Mom and I went for a late lunch and didn’t know what to try, so we ordered the Djonisi’s platter for 2. There was so much food we could have fed at least one of not 2 more people, though not everyone could have tried everything. It started with 2 small salads, and was followed with a meat platter of 2 lamb chops (highly recommend), 2 bifteki, 2 chicken skewers, and shaved gyro meat and a smaller side platter of potatoes and some tomato rice, plus small pots of tzatziki. We took a lot of food home. Djonisi’s has a place on my favorite list.

RUN! Don’t walk if you want perfectly seasoned and cooked Greek food to Djonisi’s restaurant. The family who run this super-clean and contemporarily-decorated place are so kind, and you taste the love in their food! Enjoy a table now for lunch or dinner before they get too busy to get in! Well situated between Lakewood Ranch, downtown and northern Sarasota as well as a quick dash from the Clark Road area.
We enjoyed a perfectly seasoned octopus appetizer with a rockin’ garlic aioli and lemony greens, super flavorful feta spread with seasoned pita, Moussaka with a side salad, Combination meat platter with delicious lemony-roasted potatoes and salad, and then later beautiful and delicious homemade baclava and galaktoboureko desserts. Can’t miss out on their perfect espresso too! Very reasonable prices for the quality and the food portions. Best of all were the warm and engaging family servers! Go enjoy a new, clean and fantastic foodie place and welcome them to the Sarasota food scene! They will become a family favorite!

We had a lovely experience last night at this wonderful relatively new Greek restaurant on Fruitville Road in Sarasota. From the very beginning learning that the family owned restaurant prides itself in delivery of authentic Greek food, made by the parents of the peaked our interest.
My friend and I had the a Greek wine which was semi sweet. A lovely balance of sweet wine with a nice refreshing taste, we agreed. It was delicious and we are bound to try to find it at our local wine store.
The highlight of the day, however was actual the food. My husband had the moussaka, he’s a real moussaka fan, and said that it was the best he’d ever tasted. I had the lamb shank, which was delicious. There is an extensive menu with many Greek offerings far past the Gyro and other more typical Greek food.
What made this place so fun was our waiter who is the son of the owners. Evidently this restaurant and the exact menu comes from a restaurant the family owned in Germany for 30 years. The entire family migrated to Sarasota, Florida, thankfully to share the exact menu with us here in the United States.

We just tried this jewel of place, how delicious everything was. The restaurant is owned by this beautiful family, Mom and Dad are in the kitchen and Djonisi and his younger brother run the front. They are very welcoming and make you feel like you were in the old country. Every single item we tried it was delicious and the homemade baklava to die for! The have a nice wine and beer list to enjoy the meal. Such a great addition to SRQ! Can’t wait to go back.

OMG, this place is fantastic. My friends and I enjoyed a great evening at this restaurant. We loved the service and the food! All of us have spent time in Greece and appreciate the cuisine…they did not disappoint. Djonisi and his family make everything home made even the salad dressing. The meza platter was a great way to start with very fresh ingredients. We all had different entrees. My husband loved the Branzino which was cooked to perfection. I had the combo platter of the lamb chops which was perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We came here and were the first ones in the restaurant at around 3pm. Very unsuspecting until the appetizers came and woa! We had the octopus, shrimp and something else I can’t spell 🤣. Then the entrees came and double triple ohmywoa. This place is not the typical Greek house. This is authentic Greek food with a little Mediterranean twist (Albanian). Come, you will not be disappointed! I realized I didn’t take any pictures of my food until it was too late.
